Can heavy metals and biotoxins cause chronic illness? When heavy metals and biotoxins enter the body through inhalation, digestion, transmission or injection, it is tagged, identified and broken down by the immune system and hopefully eliminated through the blood, lymph, colon, kidneys, liver and skin. If a person has a suppressed or damaged immune system, biotoxins and heavy metals may not be properly tagged, and the body may struggle to remove it. Toxins, heavy metals, plastics and their residue and other nano sized particles and substances may end up in the body permanently by circulating in the blood and usually ending up attaching to the brain, spinal cord and neurological tissue causing neuroinflammation, thereby affecting nerve cell function. They also can attach to any kind of cell in the body located in the joints, organs and soft tissue, etc. This process causes a cascading effect of the body’s inflammatory pathways. Increased cytokine pro-inflammatory production can cause chronic neurological and systemic inflammation. Over time there may be localized damage in key areas leading to a disease process such as in neuroinflammation of the central nervous system. This is how Biotoxins and heavy metals cause chronic illness.
