ACUPUNCTURE FOR HEADACHES AND PAIN

chronic back pain

Acupuncture for headaches and pain is a proven and effective way for reducing or eliminating pain for long term pain relief. When the flow of Qi gets blocked, the blood will stagnate causing localized nerves to be compressed with localized inflammation. This scenario can come from many sources, such as a previous injury, possible biotoxin or heavy metal toxin overload, spinal or joint misalignment, localized infection and strained muscles. Once proper Qi flow is restored to the area then pain and inflammation is reduced, and blood flow is improved.

Several meridians pass through the head area and blockages in these meridians may be causing or contributing to headaches. For instance, a frontal headache may be caused by an upset stomach, as the stomach meridian circumvents this area. A headache in the occipital area in the back of the head is governed by the du channel that runs from the top of the head down the spine. A headache on top of the head may be the liver channel, while a headache on the side of the head in the temples may indicate a gallbladder issue. When acupuncture points along these channels are stimulated, then qi, blood flow and nerve function are reset, and pain is usually diminished.
